"During arguably the most spirited round of Kris Kringle in recent memory, an especially benevolent Cyclops gifted Zeus the power of thunderbolts. Should the god of thunder be ever so bold as to rap at our cellar door, ‘twould be with a generous cylix of Z and a nervous wink he’d be greeted."
This Prosecco-style wine is a fresh, dry thirst quencher - perfect to sip in the sun. Lightly sparkling and perfect on its own or in a cocktail/spritz, it appears gold with a touch of bronze. With Nashi pears and apples on the nose, the palate is bright with fine acid and floral characters – a really approachable wine. The perfect wine to drink from a crazy-straw!
Alpha Box & Dice were formed as a laboratory for viticultural exploration in 2008, as the team set up constructing a different wine style to represent every letter of the alphabet. Each member of the ‘Alphabet of Wine’ has its own unique personality that fulfils a different purpose – no two wines are created alike. AB&D wines are all linked by their environment and surrounding, being created holistically through minimal intervention, vegan friendly methods. However, they are completely distinct in their flavour, appearance and orientation. In this way, AB&D wines are just like a (mostly) happy family. With a culture soaked in community, quality and a laissez-faire spirit, Alpha Box & Dice will continue to inspire, delight and surprise in everything they do… and they do a lot!
"Championing the integrity and overwhelming quality of South Australian fruit"
AB&D Vision: Wines without boundaries – regional, varietal or stylistic. Wines whose entire raison d’être is to be delicious and to express the minutia and complexity of site and vintage conditions. Wines that enchant; wines that delight you and leave you betwixt the rock and ripe grape. Through a series of random experiments in the field and adventures in vinous bricolage, these are our modest goals.
Picked from a lovely Riverland vineyard in South Australia whose soil is sand over limestone, the grapes are crushed, pressed and fermented in stainless steel with a natural yeast.
Champagne & Sparkling Wines
The secret to Champagne bubbles comes from the addition of a special mixture of sugar and wine called the ‘liqueur d’expedition’. This is what makes the bubbles. Sparkling wines have bubbles and high acidity and range from white, rosé to red in colour. Sparkling wines have been long associated as a celebratory beverage, but actually match with a wide variety of foods.
