Who are you?
ND John Wine Merchants was first founded by Nick John in 1995 and turned into a limited company in 1999. We are based in Swansea, with our shop on Walter Road in Uplands and our warehouse is based in Landore, from which we supply a large number of restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars around South and West Wales. During most of the year our shop team handle most of the online orders, however once Christmas fever starts to settle in we relocate it to the warehouse due to the high quantity of orders online and footfall in the shop.
We have a tiny team working on the website to keep it running and up to date, a small army of drivers, two numbers men, our lovely reps and a friendly team in the shop to help you. Where do the products you sell come from?
Where ever there is good wine! We try our upmost to source the best wine (and now beer, cider and spirits!) for the best prices. That means we are in constant contact with various sales representatives from around the world, from London to Champagne to Patagonia. We also get invited to see the producers themselves to taste and evaluate the latest vintages and sometimes the producers come to see us!
We currently stock over 1300 products online and that is ever increasing, as we not only grow our selection of wines but also our beers, ciders and spirits. There is so much on offer and so much to taste!
Your prices seem low, how is that?
We endeavour to get the best deal out there, which results in very low prices. We work all of our prices the same way, but if we need to chip away at that price a little to be the best price, we usually do! We have had customers in the past that believed our price was too low due to what others charge for the same product!
How will you deliver to me? How long will it take?
It depends on exactly where you are, but 90% of our customers can use our basic next-day courier service and get delivery the next working day as long as the order is placed before 12pm. Unfortunately, we can't offer this service to all addresses, so it's best to check our delivery tab on the product or our delivery page before ordering. We currently use APC couriers – click here

Packaging wise, we are always trying to get the best packaging because we our products are quite fragile! We don’t want any broken glass so we recently changed to a sturdier cardboard box. The different sizes are (in bottles) 1s, 2s, 3s, 6s and 12s. For the 1s, 2s and 3s we use an “air pack” which basically means we stick the bottle inside an inflatable bag so it has a cushion of air around it.
How often do you get stock in?
It depends on the product but for most things we order weekly, so if we see something running low in stock we will order and if you’re unlucky and the item you ordered is out of stock, then it’ll be ordered as quickly as possible. If you see an item out of stock on the website, you can opt for an email to let you know when it’s back in stock or you can send us an email, giving details on the product and when you need it by.
We deliver with next day delivery, so when we have the item, it’ll be with you by the end of the next working day.

What if something goes wrong?
It's inevitable that in a very small number of cases something can go wrong. Orders get delayed and products get damaged in transit. Whilst we can't completely avoid these scenarios, we will always do our absolute best to address your issue as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will answer your emails promptly, we will respond to your calls and voicemails quickly, and we will use all the tools at our disposal to solve your problem.
