An attractive purple, dense and bright.
A highly complex nose of fresh oak and vanilla with traces of mild spice. On airing it opens on an array of ripe black fruit aromas, especially bilberry, combined with spice and grassy, herby garrigue odours.
Round, harmonious and supple on the attack, it develops fresh fruit flavours on the mid-palate. Powerful, rich, complex and very long in the mouth, it is entirely typical of the Pauillac appellation.
Pauillac Baron Nathaniel is made largely with wines from the family's three Grands Crus classés, though from lots not used in their final selection. the rest consists of carefully selected wines from the Pauillac appellation. Pauillac Baron Nathaniel is made from classic Bordeaux grape varieties. cabernet sauvignon (80%) finds its most perfect expression on this soil and in this climate, developing incomparable aromas and tannins that give the wine character and ageing potential; Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot (10%) give the wine its elegance, Merlot (10%) its supple fruit.
