R.D. or "Recently Disgorged" is one of Bollinger's more unique creations. The blend is the same as that of "Grande Annee" but the R.D. particularity is due to its much longer ageing on the lees and, as its name implies, its recent disgorging. Ageing on the lees helps retain freshness and allows the champagne to develop greater complexity and subtlety.
