Details
Colheita's are single year Ports of great quality that are aged for a long time in wood. Krohn are famed for their Colheita's, and this one from 2000 is a great introduction.
Really smooth, silky and elegant in texture with balanced acidity, dried fruit and spice notes. The flavours really linger on the palate.
Krohn are a small family-owned house run by brother and sister Jose and iolanda Carneiro. Long renowned for the quality of their sublime Colheitas (single vintage tawnies), they produce a remarkably complete range for a small house and each wine excels in its category.
The Port spends at least 7 years maturing in wood, before being bottled, unfiltered.
Weather was poor in May, with low flowering and yields. Conditions improved, and despite some rain in August, maturation was excellent.
Enjoy with creamy cheese such as Brie or Camembert, or with creme brulee.
Grape Varieties: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa
