Details
An excellent example of good quality Soave, fresh and lightly fruity with delicate floral aromas of honeysuckle and elderflower. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with good depth of lemony fruit, lively acidity and a dry, lightly nutty finish.
This long established Veronese family company, headed by Giorgio Montresor, is producing wines which increasingly rival the (considerably pricier) offerings of the region's more fashionable names. The estate wines, from 100 ha of vineyards in Valpolicella , Soave and Garda, are modern, concentrated and classy.
Very versatile wine but excellent with simple fish such as grilled plaice or on its own well chilled as an aperitif. Also particularly good with Rissotti - simple herb versions are probably best.
80% Garganega, 20% Trebbiano di Soave
