Details
The latest in a procession of truly great vintage Champagnes from the house of Veuve Cliquot. Although they usually reach their apex of development at around a decade old, this is a remarkably fine drop right now.
Dry and very well structured on the palate, the wine is full-bodied, yeasty and robust with great length.
The blend consists of wines from 18 Premier and Grands Cru sites in the Montagne de Reims, Valee de la Marne and Cote de Blancs. Vinified in stainless steel tanks, the wines were blended and bottled for secondary fermentation. A prolonged period of lees ageing in bottle harmonised the components completely, contributing to the rich mouthfeel and yeasty complexity.
