Details
A blend of Cabernet and Merlot this wine was produced in limited quantities on the historic Meerlust Estate.
Aromas of lovely fresh blackcurrant leaf, plum and a bit of cherry backed up by denser richer notes of coffee and cedar wood. The palate is reminiscent of left bank Bordeaux, say a St Julien.
The fruit is ripe and flavoursome with classic hints of cassis and dark fruits. It possesses a pronounced freshness balanced by warmer, richer characteristics, all blended harmoniously together.
A very well made wine with fine grained tannins, bright acidity and well managed use of oak.
Drink with venison, game, pot roast and noble cheese.
