Details
This elegant rose has light salmon pink colour and gentle floral aromas with hints of nectarine, redcurrant and 'hard' pears. The palate is immediately refreshing, fruity with a lovely body of flavour. The finish is superb a deft touch with considerable depth and a long, satisfying finish.
Won over by this forgotten Château ideally situated at the foot of the calcareous barrier of Cuers, on the border of the terroir of the "Fig of Solliès", the Duffort family decided to give back life to this superb wine growing property, once used as a hospital during the war. 1988 was the first vintage of the Château by its new owners, well-known Bandol wine growers. They worked with passion and enthusiasm in this new venture, modernising vineyards and winery. After complete renovation of the property, 36 hectares (89 acres) of vineyards classified as 'Côtes de Provence' and 8 hectares (19 acres) in 'Vin de Pays' today assure the production of the Château, managed since 2004 by Olivier Duffort.
The winemaker suggests drinking with duck cooked with olives or a 'bourride', but you could also try it with mild curries or Chinese. Serve at 12°C with grilled fish, exotic or Mediterranean cuisine, or as an aperitif.
