A delightfully fresh, fruity and elegant style of Cava with lively citrus characters and lovely balancing acidity. The Parellada gives finesse and acidity, whilst the Xarel-lo develops to give full fruity aromas and flavours.
Grapes are sourced through long-standing relationships with growers in the area, that are mainly farming organically. After harvesting in mid-August, the grapes are vinified, and then the wine aged for a minimum of 15 months at their friend Josep Lluís cellar in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.
The name comes from 'La Vida al Camp memories d'un Cabaler', a book written by Jaume Raventos about life in and around his estate at Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, in the heart of Penedés at the end of the nineteenth century. Whilst still associated with the Raventós family, La Vida al Camp has been developed as a separate project to create a Cava with a real sense of place - taking advantage of long-indigenous grapes, and the expertise of the Raventós winemaking team.
Perfect alone, or for drinking with white meats, starters and salads.
Champagne & Sparkling Wines
The secret to Champagne bubbles comes from the addition of a special mixture of sugar and wine called the ‘liqueur d’expedition’. This is what makes the bubbles. Sparkling wines have bubbles and high acidity and range from white, rosé to red in colour. Sparkling wines have been long associated as a celebratory beverage, but actually match with a wide variety of foods.
