In 1833, Louis Roederer inherited the Champagne company that was originally founded in 1776 by his uncle. He immediately gave it his own name and set about spreading its reputation throughout Europe. Concentrating his efforts in Russia, it was not long before the Tsar himself was drinking Monsieur Roederer's Champagne.

This demi-sec (more residual sugar than a Brut Champagne) is pale gold in colour; the inclusion of oak-aged réserve wines from four to ten years is more apparent than in the ‘brut’ quality Champagnes. The réserve wines give complexity and roundness characteristic of Louis Roederer Champagnes.

Carte Blanche, being a demi-sec, has a little more residual sugar than normal making it smooth and creamy, with soft, elegant bubbles. It is great as an after-dinner or pre-clubbing Champagne.
