Carpe Vitae is a Latin expression that means “enjoy life”. It is also our invitation: enjoy life with good wines.

Our new wine Carpe Vitae was created to be an excellent wine to offer great moments of pleasure, sharing and enjoying each other.

We tried to transmit in this unique wine the generosity and resilience of the vine, the hardness of hot summers and the dryness of Casal da Coelheira soils.

We want this wine to be the expression of Portuguese varieties with their own and unique aromas and flavours, preserving their authenticity and singularity.

We do not reveal the varieties, but not because it is a secret.

We do not reveal the varieties, not only to leave out technical features, but also to provide Winemakers freedom in future creations.

The same way a painter does not always paint his creations with the same colours we also want to be flexible and versatile for eventual future harvest of Carpe Vitae.

The first edition of Carpe Vitae has a limited production of 1490 bottles, all numbered, with a great handicraft work in the packaging.

We do not want this wine to be only for special moments. We want every moment to be exceptional to enjoy this wine.

Hand picked and selected grapes from our oldest vineyards; destemming, maceration and fermentation in mechanical “lagares” with temperature control, malolactic fermentation, matured in oak barrels and filtration.

For over three generations, Casal da Coelheira has been committed to producing the best and most distinctive wines possible from their 64 hectares of vineyards. Located in the Charneca area of Tejo, the wines are produced exclusively from the winery’s estate vineyards with a focus on balancing tradition and modernity.
