The Château Grand-Puy Ducasse has been created since 1675. The vineyard of this Classified Growth consists of three large parcels located on the best terroirs in Pauillac. This unusual configuration was created by its founder, a distinguished lawyer, who through a series of purchases and inheritances was able to assemble this splendid 18th vineyard under one name. Thanks to the meticulous harvesting process and the way the each batch is specially matured, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot offer wines that are known for their aromatic complexity, beautiful structure and capacity to age, typical of the best of Pauillac.

Winter, marked by heavy rains and lingering sweetness until spring, make 2020 a very early vintage. Our teams have worked meticulously and intensely to maintain good health in the vineyard despite the pressure throughout the vine cycle. This redoubled attention and these special conditions were ultimately a decisive advantage for the masterful quality of this vintage. If it is a bit early to use superlatives, 2020 should be one of the great Bordeaux vintages: sunny, rich, spicy, smooth, but also tense and fresh, a signature of the greatest.

A wine also suitable for great aging to exploit its full potential 10 or 15 years later.
